Events 2011

9 - 13 November 2011: : Inverness Film Festival will return to Eden Court Theatre.

December 2011: Ness Islands Festive Event. A wonderful floodlit walk in one of the nicest parks in Inverness. Theme to be announced.

December 2011: The 2011 Winter Festival reaches its climax with the Highlands biggest free Hogmanay Party at Northern Meeting Park Arena. Come and see in 2012 in style.

6 - 8 April 2012 – Inverness Whisky Festival showcasing Scottish distilleries, food and music.

11 - 13 May 2012 – Sheepshagger Music Festival introducing young, up and coming bands from Glasgow & Edinburgh.

June 2012:  Rock Ness Concert at Dores Inverness. The music festival on the shores of Loch Ness.

1 - 3 June 2012 – Northern Roots Music Festival with traditional, roots and bluegrass music…truly world class musicians in attendance.

July 2012 - Barclays Scottish Open 2012 will be held at Castle Stuart Golf near Inverness for the first time after 15 years at Loch Lomond.

July 2012: Inverness Highland Games in Northern Meeting Park will take place as part of the Inverness Summer Festival. Founded in 1822 the Games are one of the most spectacular traditional Gatherings staged in Scotland and are one of the highlights of any visit to the Highland Capital.

27 - 29 July 2012 – Wild West Fest is a Country & Western Festival! Slightly tongue in cheek, it’s a really fun event with lots of entertainment!

August 2012: Black Isle Show at Mannsfield Showground, Muir of Ord. This is the largest agricultural show in the North of Scotland.

August 2012: Highland Field Sports Fair at Moy Hall The fair offers a diversity of entertainments and activities for all of the family, from creche facilities to archery! The emphasis is on field sports activities with competitions in fly casting, gun dog handling and clay pigeon shooting.

August 2012: Belladrum - Tartan Heart Festival on the Belladrum Estate, by Beauly. Family-orientated outdoor festival of rock, country, blues and world music.

24 - 26 August 2012 – Inverness Beer Festival offering beers and visitors from all over the world.

August 2012: Inverness Tattoo will take place at the Northern Meeting Park. Full programme details will be available soon.

August 2012: Glenurquhart Highland Games at Blairbeg Park, Drumnadrochit, Loch Ness.

August 2012: Nairn Book & Arts Festival

August 2012: Great River Ness Raft Race at Bught Park and River Ness, Inverness. Teams of 4 are invited to make a splash and raise sponsorship for Children 1st the childcare charity. The event starts at 11am with the homemade rafts arriving on floats at the fisherman's car park near Bught Park. The best dressed rafts set off on the procession alon the River Ness at 1pm.

September 2012: First Monster Race. Teams of four run and cycle around the stunning shores of Loch Ness in Britain’s most famous duathlon.

7 - 8 & 14 - 15 September 2012 – Blas Festival Club.

30 September 2012: Loch Ness Marathon plus 5K and 10K River Ness fun runs. The Baxters Loch Ness Marathon takes place along the shores of Loch Ness.

October 2012: Highland Archaeology Fortnight - events and seminars throughout the region.

October 2012: Blazin' in Beauly music festival. Blazin’ in Beauly was started by the band Blazin’ Fiddles in the historic village of Beauly, 15 miles west of Inverness. With the aim of being “much more than a fiddle school” the intention of the week in Beauly is to immerse people in the music of the Highlands and Islands.
